Take A Gemba Walk

You've worked hard to document your company's core processes, but if everyone isn't following them, what good are they?  It's time to take a Gemba Walk.

You've worked hard to document your company's core processes, but if everyone isn't following them, what good are they?  It's time to take a Gemba Walk.

If you're a leader in your organization, take a gemba walk to observe how the actual work is being accomplished.  Though it may be tempting to dive in and offer suggestions or even criticize the work being performed, start by simply observing.  The goal is to build trust with your team and enter into two-way communication regarding the work/process.  This will lead to better processes that are, as we say in the EOS® world, followed by all.
